Kings Group first got in touch with me in February 2025 after finding me in a local Facebook group - proof that organic marketing really does work! Based in Somerset and working across the South West, they’re a building services, construction, and electrical company with expertise that spans everything from large-scale installations to ongoing maintenance contracts. Their team handles a wide range of work, including electrical and security systems, commercial fit-outs, and high-security projects for the Ministry of Defence.
From the start, it’s been a genuinely collaborative process. We catch up regularly, bounce ideas around, and create content that highlights not just their impressive portfolio, but also the skill, professionalism, and personality behind the company.
Before I got involved, their social media was being managed internally and posted to whenever there was time. While some sponsorships and community involvement were highlighted, there wasn’t a clear sense of the services Kings Group actually offered. Branding was inconsistent, the posts lacked structure, and from a user’s perspective, it wasn’t obvious what the company specialised in. Their own words summed it up best: “If I was viewing this as just a normal person, I wouldn’t have a clue what we do!” They needed clarity, consistency, and a strategy that positioned them as the go-to experts in their industry.
The first step was to build a strong content structure - focusing on the quality of work they deliver, the expertise within the team, and the full range of services they offer. From there, I introduced consistent branding, more polished visuals, and clear messaging across every post.
We moved away from posting “when there’s time” and into a planned, strategic schedule that keeps them visible every week. The content itself is a joint effort: they provide brilliant detail and project insight, I shape it into a compelling story that resonates with potential clients. It’s a true partnership - one that pushes me creatively and technically (there’s a lot of industry research involved!) - but that’s exactly why I enjoy it so much. Over time, we’ve built a rhythm that balances expert-led posts, real project showcases, and community collaboration.
The transformation has been huge. Their pages now reach an average of 25,000 people every month – all organic. Engagement is up, the team actively shares posts to their own networks, and other businesses like being tagged in their content, which has helped create a strong local network and increased visibility across the region. Their social media now reflects the professionalism of their work and acts as a portfolio for potential clients who often comment on posts or find the company through their social channels.
The impact has gone beyond just posting, too. I’ve recently been invited to join a meeting with their website developers to help plan blog content – an idea that grew naturally from the long-form posts we were already creating. I’m also currently putting together a fully branded company pamphlet, designed to showcase their services and recent projects to potential clients as part of their wider marketing strategy.
They’ve since recommended me to other local businesses (who are now clients!), and working with them continues to be one of the most rewarding collaborations I’ve had.
